70th BPSC Protest LIVE Updates

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is currently facing significant unrest due to the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE). Aspirants have been protesting in Patna, alleging mismanagement and demanding a re-examination.

Exam Details and Schedule

The 70th BPSC Preliminary Examination was initially conducted on December 13, 2024. The exam comprised 150 objective-type questions covering general studies, with a duration of two hours. The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,027 positions across various state departments.

Admit Card Release and Re-examination

Following reports of irregularities, BPSC announced a re-examination for candidates from specific centers in Patna. The admit cards for this re-exam were released on December 27, 2024, and are available for download on the official BPSC website. The re-examination is scheduled for January 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Issues Leading to Protests

Aspirants have raised concerns over alleged discrepancies during the initial examination, including claims of question paper leaks and inadequate management at exam centers. These issues have led to widespread protests, with candidates demanding a full cancellation of the December 13 exam and a comprehensive re-examination.

Protests and Authorities’ Response

On December 29, 2024, thousands of aspirants gathered at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan to voice their demands. The protest escalated when participants attempted to march towards JP Golambar, encountering police barricades. The situation intensified, resulting in clashes where police used water cannons and lathi charges to disperse the crowd.

Current Status

Despite the announcement of a re-examination for certain centers, many aspirants continue to demand a statewide re-exam, citing fairness and transparency concerns. The situation remains tense, with ongoing discussions between protestors and authorities.
